NEW : summer and autumn workshops

We are so happy to be able to announce our summer and autumn workshops offered with local artist Naomi Hannam. We start on the 24th July with a workshop showcasing natural dyes to explore all the colour hidden in the landscape at Sailors Creek. What plants are friends, what plants are foes? Are there any real weeds? We will take our time to explore these questions, especially working with the beautiful and pioneering Buddleia as a natural dye. We will make naturally dyed tie dye from fabric provided by Naomi. As well as exploring colour there will be time to connect to our surroundings, sit around a fire, eat, talk and meet new people.

The next workshop is on the 18th August and will teach you the skill of cordage where you will learn how to make cordage from weeds and explore nettle, bramble and more as a medium for creating twine. Come sit in the shady canopy, by the water or our fire and make together. Busy the hands and quiet the mind. We will also explore ideas of how to use your cordage to make soft baskets.

Finally on the 10th October we are weaving simple bramble baskets. Come learn about wonderful bramble's other uses. Prepare bramble, learn how to de-thorn her and make a simple bramble basket together by the creek. Sit together around our fire or under our beautiful shelter. Take the time to unwind, to create together and talk.

Prices for a full day start at £11.55 for a concessionary ticket. We also have limited bursary tickets. These will be offered on a first come first served basis. If you would like to attend one of our workshops and are on limited income but do not qualify for a concessionary ticket please contact us at sailorcreekinfo@gmail.com.

All workshops can be booked here via eventbrite.
