SAILORS CREEK CIC DIRECTOR  - 2 YEAR VOLUNTARY POST

Dear members of Sailors Creek and the wider local community.

We are looking to expand our team of directors and are hoping to find an enthusiastic and insightful individual to join our team. 

We meet on a monthly basis to design and guide the strategy for Sailors Creek CIC and its members. While the primary focus is governance, Directors also get involved on the ground and on the river whenever time allows. Your unique skills, input, and insights will be highly valued as we plan for the future of the Creek.

Sailors Creek CIC is a local organisation with over 180 members and a number of commercial moorings that we manage along with the creekside and forest garden. We have cleared over 50 tons of debris from the creek and aim for the site to continuously improve in both its sustainability and environmental impact, while building a lasting community and fostering local connections. 

This is a temporary directorship post lasting two years and we welcome applications from anyone who would like to get involved, especially if they have any experience of or a passion for any of the following:

• Funding, finance & radical governance structures.

• Social media, photography and film.

• Arts based community projects and performance.

• Waterways, regenerative farming and ecology.

• Sustainability and innovation with waste.

• Community building/outreach. 

The positions are voluntary, and each director will be given honorary life membership of Sailors Creek CIC. There will be an option to accumulate shares in the CIC with our unique sweat credit system.
