Sailors Creek CIC Winter Tour and Open Day!
A fascinating history rich in tales of the open ocean, a lawless domain for centuries and now maybe the last great freedom we have; life afloat is in the blood of the people and the lands surrounding us here at Sailors Creek. We'll harp on about forest gardening and mushrooms too.

About the event
We can offer a maximum of 35 people a spot on this comprehensive tour of Creekside and Longfield, including a brief look at Sailors Creek itself and our moorings.
Tour includes:
A quick safety brief and housekeeping
A check in with the group to address any specific needs and interests
An A4 print out of our planting plan and some handy links for further study
A paper bag for collecting foraged leaves, roots, fruits and nuts from the site (at your own risk)
A brief geopolitical history of the local rivers, towns and other stuff
An introduction to Forest Gardening layering principles and walk around Creekside field looking at specific species
A look at the ecology of the creek and our moorings
A walk up into Longfield to explore more of the site
Time for questions and species identification
Parking in Flushing is limited so we encourage everyone to approach Sailors Creek by boat, by Ferry from Falmouth or on foot from Penryn.
Accessibility is sadly very poor to Sailors Creek at this stage, but please do get in touch if you have accessibility needs and you are keen to visit us.
